POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION WARNS AGAINST SCAM, ASSURES FREE AND TRANSPARENT RECRUITMENT PROCESS

PSC Disassociates from Fraudulent Message Requesting N2000 for Police Recruitment

In a recent press release, the Police Service Commission (PSC) has strongly cautioned candidates participating in the ongoing Police recruitment against falling victim to a scam that falsely claims a N2000 charge for the screening process. The Commission emphasizes that the entire recruitment process is entirely free of charge.

The Head of Press and Public Relations of PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, informed the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) that the Commission disowns a fictitious social media publication instructing candidates to bring N2000 for the screening. Ani clarified, "The Commission wishes to disown and disassociate itself from the said publication, which obviously is fictitious and misleading."

Ani reiterated the Commission's commitment to a transparent and merit-based recruitment process, emphasizing that no fees are required at any stage. He stated, "The Commission warns that it will no longer tolerate the meddlesomeness of fraudsters who seem bent on compromising the ongoing recruitment exercise."

Prospective candidates were urged to ignore misleading messages and assured that the Police Recruitment Board is sending legitimate messages to successful candidates with detailed information on screening requirements. The Commission remains steadfast in adhering to the Federal Character principles and ensuring a transparent, merit-based process.

"Candidates are advised to resist the temptation to cut corners, as strict regulations have been put in place to protect the recruitment exercise. The Board promises to ensure that the outcome of the exercise meets international standards, producing candidates fit for the Police of our dreams,"
