BRIG. GEN. NWOKO SPREADS CHRISTMAS CHEER, HONORS LATE MOTHER'S LEGACY

Brig. Gen. Nwoko Spreads Christmas Cheer, Honors Late Mother's Legacy

In a heartwarming Christmas gesture, Brigadier General Kingsley Nwanne Nwoko, Commandant of the Nigerian Army Intelligence School, brought smiles to the faces of over 300 widows in the Idumuje Ugboko community and neighboring areas in Aniocha North, Delta State. The event, which took place on Christmas Eve, saw the distribution of palliatives as part of the general's celebration and in memory of his late mother, Mrs. Beatrice Buno Nwoko.

General Nwoko, reflecting on his mother's legacy, expressed that the unfortunate passing of Mrs. Nwoko in October 2022 inspired him to establish a foundation in her memory. A pioneer member of the United English Baptist Church in Kaduna and a respected community leader in Idumeje, Mrs. Nwoko's impact was profound.

During the Christmas celebration, the widows were presented with bags of rice, wrappers, Maggi packets, salt, hand-wash, and cash by Brigadier General Nwoko. This compassionate act aimed to honor the memory of his mother, who had been a widow for over 30 years.

The widows, filled with gratitude, joyously received the thoughtful gifts and expressed their appreciation for the Army General's generosity. They offered earnest prayers for General Nwoko, acknowledging the significance of his kindness during the festive season.

General Nwoko affirmed his commitment to sustaining this charitable tradition, emphasizing his desire to perpetuate the legacy of his late mother—a woman fondly remembered as "Hajiya Gwari Road" for her welcoming nature and community leadership.

As the widows celebrated Christmas with the unexpected gifts, General Nwoko's gesture became a beacon of hope and a testament to the power of compassion during the holiday season.
