Former Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke Denies Alleged London Interview

In response to recent media reports suggesting an interview in London where she allegedly indicted Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, former Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, categorically denies granting such an interview. The reported interview, which claimed she implored President Bola Tinubu to allow her to return to Nigeria for a confession, has been refuted by Mrs. Alison-Madueke.

Premium Times reached out to Mrs. Alison-Madueke for verification. In an exclusive interview, she dismissed the reports as "fake" and "concocted," emphasizing that she did not grant any interview and did not make the statements attributed to her.

The newspaper that initially reported the interview has since taken down the story. An unverified screenshot alleging that the EFCC shared the controversial publication on its Instagram account has also surfaced, but the EFCC has denied authoring the post.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State has criticized the EFCC, demanding an apology for allegedly allowing fake news to be published on its platform. Despite the denial from the EFCC, the PDP insists on an apology and a disclaimer for what they consider "avoidable and costly unprofessionalism."

Mrs. Alison-Madueke, currently facing corruption charges in Nigeria and the UK, maintains her innocence and labels the entire episode as a fabrication.
