Nigeria Police Force Takes Swift Action in Response to Attacks on Plateau State Villages


In the aftermath of the recent brutal attacks on villages in Plateau State, particularly in Bokkos and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, strongly condemns these horrific acts as barbaric and inhumane.

To address this dire situation, the IGP has ordered the immediate deployment of additional manpower and resources to Plateau State. This strategic move aims to support local Police authorities and other security apparatus in effectively managing the crisis, ensuring the safety of residents in the affected LGAs, and maintaining peace across the entire State.


Recognizing the need for a thorough investigation, the IGP has directed the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) and the counterpart in the Department of Force Intelligence to form a high-powered investigative team. This team is tasked with uncovering the circumstances surrounding the incident and bringing those responsible to justice.


Utilizing both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches, the Police and other security agencies are committed to addressing the recurring crisis in the State. The IGP urges warring groups, residents, and the entire state to embrace peace, reject violence, and halt the unwarranted killings of innocent souls.


The IGP extends heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and loved ones of the deceased. He reassures the public that the perpetrators of these heinous acts will face the full force of the law and shall know no peace until justice is served.
