Smiling Simon Greenbuild Foundation Partners SHOKESTA Development Initiatives and Nigeria Connects Partners on Hope Water Project at Oba Correctional Center (Video)
In a landmark collaboration, the Smiling Simon Greenbuild Foundation has joined forces with SHOKESTA Development Initiatives and Nigeria Connects Partners to bring hope through a water initiative at the Oba Correctional Center in Oba village, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The project, commissioned today, aims to provide constant water supply for the inmates of Oba Correctional Center. Chief Mrs Nanna Okuribido, President of the Smiling Simon Greenbuild Foundation, expressed her passion for green initiatives and outlined plans to power the water project with solar energy.
"We are ready as an NGO to make correctional centers a priority," stated Chief Mrs Nanna Okuribido. In an exclusive interview with Societal Concerns news, she emphasized the need for comprehensive improvements within correctional facilities. "If we are going to correct them, the government needs to do more and provide better systems. This includes enhancing nutrition and implementing capacity-building programs such as vocational training and skill acquisition."
The President acknowledged the presence and support of Abiodun Alamutu, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, who honored the invitation despite today being his birthday. Chief Mrs Nanna Okuribido commended Commissioner Alamutu for arriving earlier than expected for the project commissioning.
