BETTA EDU: TUNJI OJO AND OTHERS POCKET MILLIONS IN FAKE SOCIAL REGISTER CONTRACT

Scandal Unveiled: Tunji Ojo and Others Pocket Millions in Fake Social Register Contract

In a shocking revelation, Sahara Reporters has exposed a dubious N3 billion National Social Register contract, implicating now-suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu. The scandal involves widespread embezzlement, with New Planet Project Limited, owned by Minister for Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, allegedly receiving a staggering N438.1 million as a consultant for the supposed verification of 11 million homes in Nigeria within just one month.

Other beneficiaries include Fabunmi Olanipeku & Co, an accounting firm linked to an APC Attorney, receiving N419.5 million. Vintsolve Global Consult, Blue Trend Enterprise, Periscope Consulting, Laitop Dynamics Interlink Services Ltd, Memak Nigeria Limited, MC Van Management Consult Limited, and Danzinger Nigeria Limited also allegedly profited from the N3 billion contracts, claiming to have verified the same 11 million homes.

Curiously, some companies like Blue Trend Enterprise have no registration records, and owners remain unknown. The situation further deepens as Periscope Consulting, with a known registration number, is allegedly owned by Ngozi Maureen Ojiego, known for interior decoration.

The scale of corruption revealed in this scandal is alarming, as the companies involved received hefty sums without providing tangible evidence of their purported verification of homes. Questions surrounding the legitimacy of these transactions and the potential involvement of high-profile individuals cast a shadow on the integrity of the social register initiative.

As investigations unfold, Nigerians await answers and accountability, demanding transparency in the allocation of public funds and a thorough examination of the roles played by those implicated in this scandal. The fallout from this revelation is likely to have significant repercussions on the political landscape, with citizens expressing frustration over the misuse of resources meant for poverty alleviation and humanitarian efforts.
