DANGOTE REFINERY WELCOMES FOURTH ONE MILLION BARRELS OF CRUDE.

Dangote Refinery Welcomes Fourth One Million Barrels of Crude, Anticipates Fifth Shipment

Excitement brews at the Dangote Refinery as it marks the receipt of its fourth one-million-barrel shipment of bonny light crude from the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL). With preparations in full swing for production commencement, the refinery eagerly awaits its fifth shipment, expected imminently.

This recent delivery, part of the six million barrels anticipated by the world's largest single-train refinery, underscores progress in the facility's readiness. Earlier, the refinery received three million barrels of crude, as stated by Mr. Akin Omole, Managing Director of Dangote Ports Operations.

Omole assured that by early January 2024, the refinery would have received its full consignment, positioning it favorably to initiate operations. Upon the completion of the 6 million barrels delivery, the refinery will initiate the production of diesel, aviation fuel, and LPG, followed by Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

This development holds significant promise for addressing fuel supply challenges not only in Nigeria but also in West African countries. The 650,000 barrels per day Dangote Petroleum Refinery, designed for 100% Nigerian crude, demonstrates flexibility to process various African and international crude grades.

Notably, the refinery's capacity to meet 100% of Nigeria's refined product requirements and its surplus for export will contribute substantially to the nation's economic landscape. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including Self-Propelled Modules (SPMs) and truck-loading gantries, the refinery adheres to global emission standards.

Mr. Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group, expressed delight at reaching this milestone, emphasizing its importance for the country. Looking ahead, the focus is on ramping up the refinery to full capacity and delivering the first batch of products to the Nigerian market in the coming months.
