Grand Unveiling of Akwa Ibom's State-of-the-Art International Worship Centre in Uyo


Uyo, Akwa Ibom - In a groundbreaking development, the new Uyo Central Business District is  welcome the majestic International Worship Centre, a modern marvel with distinctive architectural features spanning 9.5 hectares. The first of its kind in Akwa Ibom, this N32 Billion edifice multipurpose facility, designed and constructed by Julius Berger, promises to redefine the landscape of religious events in the state.

N32 BILLION INTERNATIONAL WORSHIP CENTRE 


Boasting a towering height of 49.36m above ground level, the centre is a turnkey masterpiece that includes a reinforced concrete super-structure with a steel space frame roof support and aluminium covering. The exterior is adorned with a glass aluminium façade and plaster works, creating a visual spectacle for onlookers.


With a colossal 45,600m² podium, the International Worship Centre can comfortably host up to 5,500 visitors, making it an ideal venue for both local and international gatherings. The tiled floors inside, complemented by plastered and painted walls, add a touch of elegance to the interior space, while the partially covered roof features suspended ceilings.


Moreover, the project incorporates essential infrastructure, with power supply, water, and sewage treatment systems housed in separate buildings on the outskirts of the expansive 9.5-hectare plot. This strategic placement ensures seamless operations and accessibility.


The International Worship Centre signifies a significant milestone for Akwa Ibom, offering not only a sanctuary for spiritual events but also contributing to the state's architectural legacy.
