Inspector General of Police Reinforces Intelligence Division Nationwide with Strategic ACP Postings

IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun Prioritizes Crime Reduction through Enhanced Intelligence Operations

In a significant move to bolster the intelligence capabilities of the Police Force, Inspector General of Police IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun has mandated the immediate posting of Assistant Commissioners of Police ACPs to spearhead the Intelligence Department at both Zonal and State Commands nationwide.

The decision stems from the IGP's commitment to elevating the effectiveness of the Intelligence Department across all levels of the Force, aligning with his vision statement to curtail the country's crime rate. Notably, upon assuming office, IGP Egbetokun reactivated the Presidential approval, upgrading the Force Intelligence Bureau to a Department and appointing DIG Habu Sanni to oversee the newly established Department of Force Intelligence.

The newly appointed Senior Officers are entrusted with deploying intelligence-based assets to combat crimes and criminality in their respective areas of responsibility. Emphasizing professionalism, the IGP urges them to leverage their extensive experience to fortify the existing intelligence architecture of the Force.

Force spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the immediate implementation of these strategic postings, underscoring the Police Force's unwavering commitment to proactive measures in addressing national security concerns.
