Rasheed Bolarinwa Secures Second Term as ACAMB President: Press Society Delves into the Why

In a recent announcement, Rasheed Bolarinwa, Head of Corporate Communications at Polaris Bank, has been elected for a second term as President of the Association of Corporate Affairs Managers of Banks (ACAMB). The Press Society Association of Nigeria investigated the reasons behind this reappointment, shedding light on the evolution of ACAMB since its inception in 1996.

Initially established during a challenging period for banks, ACAMB faced issues such as frequent failures, poor lending practices, and controversies in the foreign exchange market. Over the years, the association has matured, now boasting over 300 registered members. The election of Bolarinwa marks a significant moment for the association, with his agenda focusing on "PEAL" – Partnership & Platform, Engagement, Advocacy, and Learning & Value Addition.

Before ascending to the presidency, Bolarinwa served two terms as the association's Secretary-General. His vision for ACAMB is to foster an environment where every marketing communication staff in banks can achieve professional recognition and fulfillment, ensuring a sustainable livelihood even after leaving the industry.

The newly elected executives, including Oze Kalu (First Vice-President), Lola Egboh (Second Vice-President), Sipe Babajide (Secretary-General), and others, reflect a diverse representation from various prominent banks.

Bolarinwa's tenure has already seen notable accomplishments, such as an advocacy visit to CIBN to bridge perception and reputation management gaps in the banking sector. Additionally, ACAMB organized the first National Stakeholders Conference and the Second National Stakeholders Meeting, addressing the evolving role of marketing communications in Nigeria's financial services industry.

Under Bolarinwa's leadership, ACAMB also organized the 2022 Aerobic & Health Meet at EPAC Centre with Kemen Fitness, emphasizing the importance of physical well-being within the banking community. The future promises a dynamic ACAMB, committed to professional growth, industry synergy, and public engagement.
