President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to the family of the deceased. In a statement issued by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu prayed for the peaceful repose of Ojougboh's soul and offered comfort to his grieving family members. He encouraged them to find solace in God and in the cherished memories and legacy of the late APC chieftain.

Ojougboh, who served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007, was also a prominent leader of the APC in Delta State.

In a thrilling semi-final match, the Super Eagles emerged victorious over the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, with Kelechi Iheanacho scoring the deciding penalty in the shootout. The match ended 1-1 after extra time, and Nigeria will now face either hosts Ivory Coast or the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final on Sunday.

The sudden passing of Cairo Ojougboh has left a void in the political landscape, with colleagues and supporters mourning the loss of a dedicated leader and public servant.
