CGC Adeniyi Holds Talks with Gov. Abba Kabir, Pledges to Boost Trade in Kano





In a bid to strengthen ties between the Nigeria Customs Service and the Kano State Government, Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi recently paid a visit to the Kano State Government House. The meeting, which took place on Sunday, March 10, 2024, emphasized the Customs Service's commitment to enhancing trade and addressing food security challenges in Kano State.


During the visit, CGC Adeniyi reiterated the importance of collaboration between the Customs Service and the Kano community to tackle common challenges and facilitate trade. He also conveyed President Ahmed Tinubu's directives regarding detained grains suspected of illegal export, emphasizing their reintroduction into domestic markets to alleviate food insecurity.

Governor Abba Kabir welcomed CGC Adeniyi's proactive approach and expressed support for Customs policies aimed at enhancing import and export activities, particularly in Kano, a vital commerce hub. He commended CGC Adeniyi's visit to the Dawanau International Grains Market and pledged full support for establishing an export warehouse there.


In a separate engagement, CGC Adeniyi visited the Mamuda Group of Companies in Kano, underscoring the Customs Service's commitment to fostering partnerships with stakeholders to boost revenue generation and facilitate trade nationwide. Chairman and CEO Hassan Hammoud reaffirmed the company's dedication to compliance with customs regulations, ensuring a mutually beneficial relationship with the Nigeria Customs Service.
