Exclusive: Customs CG Inspects Progress of New Zone B Headquarters Construction Site in Mando

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, undertook a surprise visit to the construction site of the Customs Cantonment in Mando, Kaduna, on Thursday, February 7, 2024, to assess the project's advancement.


Addressing reporters after the site inspection, the CGC highlighted the significance of the project in fortifying the Service's infrastructure to facilitate its operations.


"This afternoon, I am here to evaluate the advancement of this critical initiative, the construction of the Customs Cantonment in Mando, Kaduna. This endeavor underscores our dedication to establishing resilient infrastructure to bolster the Nigeria Customs Service's activities," stated the CGC.

He emphasized the importance of the ongoing construction of the Federal Operations Unit Zone ‘B’ in augmenting the operational efficacy of Customs personnel and ensuring their well-being. "It will equip them with contemporary facilities and amenities to execute their duties efficiently," he remarked.



The CGC reiterated the project's prioritization, affirming that it would serve as a linchpin for Customs operations in the region, strengthening their ability to safeguard borders and combat illicit activities.



"I extend my commendation to the commitment and diligence of all involved in this venture. Your contributions are pivotal in materializing our vision of a modern and effective Customs Service," he acknowledged.



Earlier in the day, the CGC was accorded a ceremonial guard of honor by personnel from the Customs Police Unit at the Zonal Headquarters in Kabala-Doki, Kaduna.
