Nigeria Customs Initiates 2-Day ICT/Modernization Retreat for Management Team


The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) under the leadership of Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi embarked on a significant stride towards digital transformation with the commencement of a two-day retreat on Friday, March 1, 2024, in Abuja.




At the NCS 2024 ICT—Modernization Management Retreat, CGC Bashir Adewale reiterated the Service's commitment to leveraging technology to streamline operations, emphasizing the need for stakeholder engagement to ensure the smooth implementation of digital initiatives.


"In 2024, it's crucial for us to embrace technology for efficiency and transparency," remarked CGC Adeniyi, urging his Management Team, especially in ICT, to spearhead the adoption of digital solutions such as the electronic cargo tracking system.



Acknowledging the importance of modernizing every aspect of customs operations, CGC Adeniyi stressed the integration of technology to bolster efficiency and effectiveness.


The Chairman of Trade Modernization Project Limited, Alhaji Saleh Ahmadu, applauded the CGC's determination, highlighting the project's potential to revolutionize operations and enhance trade nationally and across the African continent.


Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs, ACG Kikelomo Adeola, praised the CGC's dedication to the modernization project, emphasizing its role in reshaping and digitizing customs activities.



The NCS 2024 ICT-Modernization Management Retreat symbolizes a new chapter for the Nigeria Customs Service, demonstrating its readiness to embrace technological advancements for operational excellence.
