The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has announced the deployment of 2,000 officers and men to ensure the safety and security of lives and property during this year's Eid-ul-Fitri celebration in the state.

Eid-ul-Fitri, also known as the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," marks the end of the month-long Ramadan fast observed by Muslims worldwide.

Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, the Commandant of NSCDC, Lagos State, stated that the deployment follows the Federal Government's declaration of Tuesday, 9th, and Wednesday, 10th April, 2024, as public holidays to mark the celebration.

The officers and men deployed for this assignment were selected from various departments, units, divisions, and area commands across the state. They will focus on ensuring the safety of critical national assets and infrastructure, as well as recreational parks/centres and other strategic facilities.

Commandant Keshinro extended his greetings to the Muslim faithful and urged for peace, love, and unity among all citizens. He reiterated the commitment of the NSCDC to protect lives and property in the state.

Furthermore, he issued a warning to criminal elements, particularly vandals, urging them to refrain from acts of economic sabotage or face the consequences of the law.

Commandant Keshinro assured that NSCDC personnel will remain vigilant and dedicated to their core mandates throughout the holidays, ensuring a smooth and peaceful celebration for all.
