GOV. SANWO-OLU ARRIVED SOUTHERN GOVERNORS’ FORUM AT THE PRESIDENTIAL LODGE, ABEOKUTA 




Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has arrived in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State for a meeting with other governors under the aegis of the Southern Governors Forum to address matters affecting the region and Nigeria as a whole.


The Southern Governors Forum is the umbrella body of all the 17 governors in the South-West, South-South and South-East geo-political zones of Nigeria.


Governor Sanwo-Olu, who arrived at Presidential Lodge, Abeokuta, the venue of the meeting was received by the host, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun. He is the first to arrive for the meeting.


The meeting is an intervention by the governors to jointly brainstorm and address burning issues in the Southern part of Nigeria, as well as the entire country.




The Southern Governors Forum meeting was held about two weeks after Governor Sanwo-Olu was elected the Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum at a meeting held in Lagos.


Governors who are already in Abeokuta for the crucial meeting are the host governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Chairman, of South-West Governors Forum, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Alex Otti (Abia), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Bassey Otu (Cross River)


Also representing their governors are Deputy Governors Chinyere Ekomaru (Imo), Olayide Adelami (Ondo) and Monday John Onyeme
