Nigeria Boasts Four Billionaires on 2024 Forbes Rich List


The 2024 Forbes list of the world's wealthiest individuals has been unveiled, featuring four Nigerian billionaires among its ranks.




Samad, Otedola, Dangote, Adenuga: Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga, Abdulsamad Rabiu, and Femi Otedola are among the 2,781 billionaires listed by Forbes, showcasing Nigeria's presence in the global wealth landscape.


Forbes utilized stock prices and exchange rates from March 8, 2024, to compile its latest billionaire roster, maintaining a real-time index for further analysis.


The United States leads the list with a staggering 813 billionaires worth $5.7 trillion, followed by China with 473 billionaires worth $1.7 trillion, and India with 200 billionaires.


The total net worth of the world's billionaires has reached $14.2 trillion, marking a substantial increase of $2 trillion from the previous year's record.


Here's a closer look at the Nigerian billionaires featured on the list:


Aliko Dangote: Ranked at number 144 globally, Dangote, the chairman of Dangote Group, boasts a net worth of $13.4 billion, making him the richest man in Africa.


Mike Adenuga: Chairman of Globacom, Adenuga occupies the 409th spot on the list with a net worth of $6.7 billion, accumulated from his ventures in telecommunications and oil.


Abdulsamad Rabiu: Founder of BUA Group, Rabiu is ranked 581st with a net worth of $5.2 billion. BUA Group, a Nigerian conglomerate, is engaged in cement production, sugar refining, and real estate.


Femi Otedola: Holding the 2152nd position, Otedola boasts a net worth of $1.4 billion, contributing to Nigeria's representation on the global wealth stage.
