OYO STATE: GOVERNMENT HOUSE INVASION BY YORUBA NATION MILITANTS

Update on Oyo State Government House Invasion by Yoruba Nation Militants

Joint Security Forces Apprehend 20 Suspects

In a significant development following the invasion of the Oyo State Government premises in Agodi, Ibadan, joint security forces have apprehended 20 suspects believed to be affiliated with the secessionist group known as Oodua Nation Agitators.

The arrested individuals, adorned in military-style camouflage attire, were intercepted while traveling in an unregistered silver-colored Nissan van. Upon inspection, security forces uncovered a cache of weapons and paraphernalia, including machetes, pump-action shotguns, ammunition, charms, and other talismans, alongside a flag associated with the Oodua Nation secessionist movement.

According to reports, the assailants arrived at the location in multiple vehicles and attempted to forcibly enter the Governor's Office during the siege. However, swift action by vigilant security personnel thwarted their nefarious intentions. The suspects, who obscured their identities with masks and scarves, initiated the armed invasion in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The apprehension of these suspects underscores the concerted efforts of security forces to maintain law and order and safeguard public institutions. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with authorities working diligently to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
