Lagos Command NSCDC, Advocates for Positive Media Coverage of Security Reports 


Lagos State Commandant, National Security and Civil Defense Corps NSCDC, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro appealed to journalists to shift the narrative by reporting more positive news about the efforts and successes of security agencies. This was said  during the courtesy visit to the command by Ambassador Oluwayomi Oluwapelumi, publisher of Societal Concerns Magazine, 


 

 "Positive stories about our work rarely make headlines, yet they are crucial in changing public perception and boosting the morale of our officers," he noted.




The visit underscored the ongoing campaign to support and protect those who risk their lives to maintain national security.


During the visit, Commandant AS Keshinro commended the initiative led by Ambassador Oluwapelumi and expressed his appreciation for the group's efforts to highlight the importance of safeguarding security personnel. "Your solidarity walk is a significant step towards fostering a safer environment for our officers," Commandant Keshinro stated.



Commandant Keshinro elaborated on the critical role played by the NSCDC in national security. "The NSCDC is dedicated to protecting critical national assets, ensuring public safety, and maintaining peace and order across the country," he explained. He emphasized the diverse responsibilities undertaken by the corps, including disaster management, intelligence gathering, and collaboration with other security agencies to combat crime and terrorism.



Ambassador Oluwapelumi echoed the Commandant's sentiments, stressing the need for balanced media coverage. "The media has a powerful role in shaping public opinion. By reporting the positive contributions of our security personnel, we can foster greater respect and support for those who serve and protect us," she said.


The visit concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to promoting the welfare and safety of security personnel. Commandant Keshinro assured Ambassador Oluwapelumi of the NSCDC's continued dedication to its mission and welcomed future collaborations with Societal Concerns Magazine to enhance public awareness about the importance of national security.
