Hon. Bamigboye's Green Initiative, Calls for Community Participation in Tree Planting Effort




Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, the Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government, by his steadfast commitment to environmental sustainability through the state's Green Initiative has call on the Community to participate in Tree Planting .This commendation came as Mushin LG celebrated the 2024 Tree Planting Day on Sunday, July 14, 2024.






During the event, MOA urged the community to actively participate in the tree planting movement, highlighting the significance of collective action in fostering a greener and healthier environment. Comrade Salami lauded Hon. Bamigboye's dedication to environmental conservation, noting the positive impact the Green Initiative has had on the community. He called on residents to support the state government’s efforts by planting and nurturing trees, thereby cultivating a culture of environmental responsibility.


The event, held at the newly constructed Army Children Primary School in Oshodi, underscored the community's unity in promoting sustainability. It brought together residents, stakeholders, and government officials who planted trees and pledged their support for the Green Initiative. This collaborative effort between MOA, Mushin LG, and the community demonstrates the power of collective action in creating a sustainable future.







In his address, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye emphasized the critical role of tree planting in mitigating the adverse effects of climate change. He encouraged residents to embrace environmental conservation, noting the government's plan to reintroduce monthly Environmental Sanitation exercises across Lagos State. The theme of the event, "Nurture Our Future," resonated deeply, inspiring individuals to take ownership of their environmental responsibilities.


Representatives from the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Lagos State Parks and Gardens, and other stakeholders highlighted the importance of tree planting in building a sustainable and healthier Lagos. The event featured a tree planting ceremony, with dignitaries and residents planting trees around the school premises, symbolizing the community’s commitment to environmental conservation.


Among the notable attendees were Hon. Tunbosun Aruwe, Vice Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Hon. Olawale Ayegbayo, Leader of the Legislative Arm, and other dignitaries. The celebration concluded with a renewed sense of purpose, as the community united to nurture a greener future for generations to come.
