Nigerian Army Engages  Lagos, Ogun States to Celebrate NADCEL 2024

As part of the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2024, the 81 Division Nigerian Army organized a public speaking engagement with secondary school students in Lagos and Ogun states.

Held at HOMAT Group of Schools in Ikorodu, Lagos, and Lafenwa High School in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the event marked the Nigerian Army's 161st anniversary. It provided a platform to discuss the Army's role in promoting peace and stability, and to reflect on its achievements in maintaining Nigeria's sovereignty.

The engagement aimed to educate future leaders on the criteria for commissioning and enlisting in the Nigerian Army, fostering a positive relationship between the students and the military. Lieutenant Colonel OD Bamiteko, Acting Director of 81 Division Education Services, highlighted the event's goal to positively influence students' perceptions and inform them about career opportunities in the Army.

Highlights included a documentary on the Army's history and operations, a lecture by Lieutenant Colonel MM Marwa, and an interactive Q&A session. Students also participated in a snap quiz competition.

Participating schools included ENODAB Rainbow School and Sky Top College in Ikorodu, Lagos.
