Oba of Lagos Urges Patience with Tinubu Administration, Commends First Lady's Visit

The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has called on Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, highlighting the President's commitment to grassroots development. This appeal was made during a courtesy visit by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at his Iga Idugaran palace in Lagos.

During the visit, Oba Akiolu expressed his confidence in President Tinubu's intentions for the nation and urged citizens to support him with prayers. "All that I am saying and appealing is that we should pray for Nigeria and the President. We should be patient. Everything good needs prayers," he stated.

The monarch also addressed the youth, recognizing their hard work and potential, and encouraged them to stay close to God. He acknowledged that while some youth may appear lazy and dependent, they should be taught to be self-reliant and proactive.

The Oba of Lagos reiterated his long-standing call for a special status for Lagos State, given its history as the former Federal Capital of Nigeria. He emphasized the unique challenges and opportunities facing the state and the need for special consideration from the federal government.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, accompanied by the wives of some South West Governors, National Assembly Members, ministers, and service chiefs, expressed gratitude for the Oba's support and blessings. She assured the royal father of her husband's dedication to Nigeria's progress. "I assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do well for this country. He loves Nigeria, he loves Nigerians, and will do the best for them," she affirmed.

The First Lady also promised that the request for a special status for Lagos would be brought to the attention of the National Assembly through Lagos representatives. She highlighted the importance of unity and collective effort in overcoming the current challenges facing the nation.

The visit concluded with traditional blessings from the Oba of Lagos, marking a significant moment of solidarity and hope for the Tinubu administration.
