President Tinubu Announces New Appointments for Federal Agencies and National Project



President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of new leaders for ten federal agencies and a national project  These appointments aim to bring renewed leadership and drive to key sectors of the Nigerian government. Some of the appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.


Key Appointments:


1. Tosin Adeyanju - Executive Secretary, National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF)

   Adeyanju, known for his administrative skills and advocacy for good governance, is expected to ensure transparency and efficiency in the NLTF's operations.


2. Omolola Oloworaran - Director-General, National Pension Commission (PenCom)

   A finance and banking expert, Oloworaran's appointment is pending Senate approval. She is anticipated to lead PenCom with a focus on efficiency and performance.


3. Silas Agara - Director-General, National Directorate of Employment (NDE)

   Former deputy governor of Nasarawa State, Agara is tasked with overhauling the NDE to better address mass unemployment through innovative programs.


4. Umar Mohammed - Director-General, Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA)

   An architect and environmental professional, Mohammed is expected to enhance the agency's hydrological and hydrogeological data services.


5. Baffa Dan Agundi - Director-General, National Productivity Centre (NPC)

   A former Kano State House of Assembly majority leader, Agundi is charged with fostering a culture of excellence and productivity.


6. Mainasara Umar Kogo - Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT)

   Kogo, a seasoned lawyer, is anticipated to uphold professionalism and integrity in his new role.


7. Jobson Ewalefoh - Director-General, Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC)

   With extensive experience in public-private partnerships and public policy reform, Ewalefoh’s appointment requires Senate confirmation.


8. Cornelius Adebayo - Executive Secretary/CEO, National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA)

   An engineer and social development expert, Adebayo is expected to drive the growth and sustainability of Nigeria's agricultural sector.


9. Oluwaseun Faleye - MD/CEO, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF)

   A legal and corporate finance specialist, Faleye is joined by Mojisolaoluwa Alli-Macaulay as Executive Director (Operations), to reposition NSITF for enhanced social protection.


10. Saleh Abubakar - Director-General, National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW)

    A seasoned public administrator, Abubakar is expected to lead efforts in combating land degradation and enhancing food security.


11. Olufemi Adekanbi - Project Coordinator, Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP)

    Adekanbi, a former commissioner and environmental management expert, will focus on restoring communities affected by hydrocarbon pollution, especially in Ogoniland.


Special Adviser on Senate Matters:

Bashir Lado - Special Adviser on Senate Matters:** Former senator Lado is appointed to foster better collaboration between the executive and legislative branches, leveraging his extensive experience in government.


These appointments are expected to bring about significant improvements in their respective agencies, ensuring better service delivery and governance in Nigeria.
