Students of Federal School of Statistics, Ibadan Protest Against Extortion and Unnecessary Levies

Ibadan, Nigeria – Students of the Federal School of Statistics, Ibadan Campus, have taken to protest, blocking the school's main entrance and the road linking Ajibode/Shasha area.

The demonstration, sparked by alleged extortion and imposition of unnecessary levies by the school's management, saw students carrying placards expressing their grievances. Complaints included mandatory payments before accessing results and the school portal, as well as dissatisfaction with the quality of lecturers.

Some placards read, "Say no to all compulsory payments before accessing results." A  student stated that the students are frustrated by the introduction of numerous new fees this semester, especially given the current economic hardships in the country.
