TRAGEDY: BOKO HARAM RAID JAKANA POLICE STATION IN BORNO

Boko Haram Terrorists Raid Jakana Police Station in Borno State

Boko Haram terrorists launched a deadly attack on the Jakana Police Station in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State. The raid, which commenced around 1:00 am and lasted until 3:00 am, resulted in the deaths of a police officer and a woman, and the theft of arms and ammunition.

According to security sources, the heavily armed insurgents overpowered the police force during the protracted gun battle. After breaching the station, they looted the armory and set ablaze two patrol vehicles and a motorcycle. One of the destroyed vehicles belonged to the police, while the other was property of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

“They overpowered them and gained access into the police station, looted arms and ammunition, and destroyed two patrol vehicles,” a security source reported. “One of the vehicles belongs to the police and the other to the members of the Civilian Joint Task Force.”

Hon Abbas Ali Abari, Chairman of Konduga Local Government, confirmed the attack and stated that further details would be disclosed in due course. However, the Borno State Police Command's Public Relations Officer, Nahun Kenneth, has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

In a separate but related incident, Boko Haram terrorists kidnapped 14 villagers from nearby communities, plunging the region into a heightened state of fear and uncertainty. The abductions underscore the persistent threat posed by the insurgents and the ongoing security challenges in the region.

Authorities are working to gather more information and respond to these brazen attacks, as residents call for increased security measures to protect their communities.
