In an exclusive interview with Societal Concerns Media Network, the Councillor and Leader of the House of Ojodu LCDA, Opeyemi Apatira emphasized the importance of dialogue over protests, especially in the current sensitive climate. The councillor acknowledged the fundamental right to peaceful protest but warned against the potential for such events to be hijacked by individuals with malicious intentions, leading to violence and destruction.

Apatira stressed that while some youths intend to protest peacefully, others may exploit the situation for nefarious purposes. He urged that safety measures and protective measures be in place for those who choose to demonstrate, ensuring that their actions do not devolve into chaos. Reflecting on the significant damages from previous protests, he highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and avoiding a repeat of past destructions, particularly in Lagos State.

Furthermore, the councillor emphasized the value of skill acquisition as a means to improve one's prospects and economic mobility. He pointed to initiatives like the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), which offers training in various fields, including AI, new technologies, plumbing, and solar installation. He encouraged youths to engage in these programs to become more employable and relevant in the global economy.
