LABOUR PARTY WINS BOGORO COUNCILLORSHIP ELECTION DESPITE NOT FIELDING A CANDIDATE

Labour Party Wins Bogoro Councillorship Election Despite Not Fielding a Candidate

In an unexpected turn of events, the Labour Party has secured the highest number of votes in the recently concluded councillorship election in Lusa B Ward of Bogoro Local Government Area, Bauchi State, despite not having a candidate on the ballot.

The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC) declared that the Labour Party, which did not field a candidate, garnered 2,200 votes. Following closely was the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf, who received 2,168 votes. Despite coming second in the poll, Lucy Ahmadu Yusuf was declared the winner and the newly elected councillor for Lusa B Ward, as the Labour Party had no candidate in the race.

The candidate from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mbam Masoyi, finished in third place with 275 votes.

Announcing the results at the collation centre in Bogoro, the returning officer, Daniel Gambo, highlighted the unusual outcome, marking it as a significant moment in the local political landscape.

The development has sparked conversations among political analysts and residents about the implications of the Labour Party's unexpected performance and the subsequent declaration of the PDP candidate as the winner.
