Ikeja New Era Lions Club of District 404-B2 Nigeria has kicked off its preparations for the upcoming 2024/2025 Lion Year by conducting a comprehensive training session for its members. The training, which took place recently, was aimed at equipping club officials and members with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively serve their communities in the new Lion Year.


The training session was led by the esteemed Lion Fapohunda Mathew, a seasoned facilitator known for his expertise in Lions Club leadership and community service. The event was attended by the newly elected president of Ikeja New Era Lions Club, past presidents, and other cabinet members, including the First Vice District Governor (FVDG) of District 404-B2, Lion Oluwakemi Eribake, and Region Chairperson, Lion Babatunde Joseph.


In his opening remarks, Lion Fapohunda emphasized the core purpose of the Lions Club, stating, "The purpose of Lions Club is to take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social, and moral welfare of the community. This training will provide us with the basic information and resources needed to prepare for the new Lion Year."


He further explained that the training was designed to help members recognize the roles and responsibilities of key club leadership positions, including the Club President and Secretary, as well as other officers. "Upon the completion of this training, you will be equipped with the necessary resources to evolve and excel in the upcoming year," he added.


The session provided valuable insights into leadership within the Lions Club, focusing on the importance of teamwork, community service, and the effective utilization of club resources. The presence of district and regional leaders underscored the significance of the event and the club's commitment to excellence in service.
