Fidelity Bank Donates Maternity Kits to Pregnant Women in Yaba as Part of CSR Initiative

In a continued effort to support local communities, Fidelity Bank Plc has donated maternity kits to pregnant women in the Aiyetoro area of Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State. This donation is part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative under the **Fidelity Helping Hands Program (FHHP)**.

The project, championed by the **Crestcore Inductees Class**, highlights the bank’s commitment to improving lives through impactful community-focused efforts. Fidelity Bank staff identify key areas of need within their communities, raise funds, and with matching contributions from the bank's management, extend support to those in need.

The handover event took place at the **Aiyetoro Primary Health Centre** on Wright Street, Adekunle, Yaba. Dr. **Meksley Nwagboh**, Divisional Head of Brand & Communications at Fidelity Bank, led the distribution of the maternity kits, emphasizing the bank's dedication to promoting maternal health.

“At Fidelity Bank, we understand that 'health is wealth.' Unfortunately, many women face financial obstacles in accessing critical ante-natal care, which has been identified as a major factor contributing to maternal mortality. Our donation today is aimed at encouraging more women to seek proper medical care, ultimately reducing these risks,” Dr. Nwagboh stated.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the community, **Dr. S.O. Oredein**, Medical Officer of Health for Yaba LCDA, expressed appreciation for the bank's intervention, stating, “Fidelity Bank has once again demonstrated its deep concern for the well-being of the community. This contribution will motivate expectant mothers to visit health centers regularly, which is essential in reducing maternal mortality.”

Beneficiaries of the initiative also shared their gratitude. Sekinat Aderoju, one of the recipients, said, “This support from Fidelity Bank has eased the financial strain on us. These maternity kits will go a long way in helping us prepare for safe deliveries.”

Fidelity Bank’s donation falls under its **Health/Social Welfare CSR** pillar, one of several pillars that also include **Education, Youth Empowerment**, and **Environmental Sustainability**.

Fidelity Bank Plc continues to maintain its standing as one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, with over 8.3 million customers and a broad reach through 251 business offices in Nigeria and the UK, alongside various digital platforms. The bank has earned several prestigious awards, including the **Export Finance Bank of the Year** at the 2023 BusinessDay Banks and Other Financial Institutions (BAFI) Awards, and multiple accolades from **Euromoney** and **Global Banking and Finance Awards** for its excellence in SME banking and payment solutions.
