How NIPR Appoints Rasheed Bolarinwa as Chairman of FinanceHub Committee

The Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has appointed Rasheed Bolarinwa, President of the Association of Communication and Marketing Professionals in Banks (ACAMB), as the chairman of its newly established FinanceHub Management Committee. This strategic move aims to enhance sustainable public relations practices within the finance sector, encompassing banking, insurance, and pensions.

Rasheed Bolarinwa, who currently serves as the Head of Brand Management and Corporate Communication at Polaris Bank, is expected to bring his extensive experience in journalism, public relations, and the financial sector to this role. His leadership in the committee will be instrumental in advancing PR practices across banking, insurance, and pensions, alongside contributions from other appointees representing the maritime and aviation sectors.

Bolarinwa's appointment follows his re-election as President of ACAMB in January 2024, after serving two terms as the association's secretary-general. His reputation for leadership and expertise in corporate and marketing communications makes him a fitting choice to steer the FinanceHub committee.

The NIPR also announced the appointment of other chairpersons to lead newly created sectoral hubs, including Mrs. Thelma Okoh for the Maritime Hub, Dr. Jossy Nkwocha for the Energy Hub, and Mr. Basil Agboarumi for the Aviation Hub. Dr. Ahmad Sajoh was appointed to head the Anti-Corruption and Consumer Protection Hub, while Miss Chimdi Neliaku will lead the Young Practitioners Hub.

The nomination letters were signed by Uzoma Onyegbadue, Registrar and Secretary to the NIPR Governing Council, who emphasized the importance of these sectoral hubs in fostering sustainable and viable public relations practices across various sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Chairpersons and Committee Members, NIPR National President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, expressed confidence in the selected leaders, highlighting their expertise and dedication. He stated, “Your appointments are a reflection of the trust and confidence the NIPR Council places in your abilities. We look forward to working together to make a positive impact on public relations practices within these sectoral hubs.”

Dr. Neliaku, along with other members of the Governing Council, pledged full support for the sectoral hubs and expressed enthusiasm about the collaborative efforts to advance public relations practices in Nigeria.
